Found Footage Project

I had a great time working on this project. The two video projects were probably my favorites because I got to work on my video-making skills. I tend to do more photoshop work, so this project really enhanced my skill set in general. The production process actually went very well and I made the transitions seamless to the beat of the song. I chose the main theme from the movie Interstellar because I was going to be doing a galaxy-themed Found Footage Project. When working on this project, I worked for a very long time on the transitions. The clips had to be quite short and there had to be many of them to fit in the time. I didn’t find anything difficult about this project. I pulled many videos from Youtube; a lot of the videos were from sleep relaxation videos and the other half were from night sky prolonged videography. At the beginning of the project, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. In recitation, I looked through multiple sites but I didn’t realize that I wanted to do something with stars until after recitation. What surprised me at the end of this was how much I enjoyed the product that I made. It really spoke to me and the Found Footage Project was probably one of my favorites this semester.

Interstellar

The production process between the Found Footage Project and the Metaphor of Self Project was not similar in the media that I used, of course. The difference between the two projects was the type of media that I used. The two projects could not be more different in content. The Found Footage Project was repurposed footage found on Youtube, while the Metaphor of Self Project was mostly all original footage. I think that it is important for the projects to be different because it shows the vastness of the projects that I have made in this class. I am very proud of these two projects because they really gave me an opportunity to figure out what I need to work on as an artist.
