Metaphor of Self Project
I had a great time working on this project. The two video projects were probably my favorites because I got to work on my video-making skills. I tend to do more photoshop work, so these projects really enhanced my skill set in general. The production process actually went very well. I did my best to make the transitions between the footage fit well with the beat of the song. I chose Acid Rain by Lorne because I’ve always had an image of a car video to this song. When working on this project, I worked for a very long time on the transitions. The clips had to hit at the time of the beat, which wasn’t too difficult but it definitely took a long time. I found getting the right footage difficult, especially when filming with an iPhone in a convertible on the freeway. I knew exactly what I wanted to do when this project was presented in recitation. I have always had an image in my mind about this song. I had an image of a car driving down the highway with neon lights shining over the car. It’s a little hard to do that while in a different car in Houston, Texas on the highway. What surprised me at the end of this was how much I enjoyed the product that I made. It really spoke to me and the Metaphor of Self Project was my other favorite of the projects that I did this semester.

GT-R
The production process between the Found Footage Project and the Metaphor of Self Project was not similar in the media that I used, of course. However, I put in the same amount of work in making the videos. The difference between the two projects was the type of media that I used. The two projects could not be more different in content. The Found Footage Project was repurposed footage found on Youtube, while the Metaphor of Self Project was mostly all original footage. I think that it is important for the projects to be different because it shows the vastness of the projects that I have made in this class. I am very proud of these two projects because they really gave me an opportunity to work on enhancing my skills as an artist.
